Introducing Hawke's Bay Incorporated

Hawke’s Bay’s Regional Tourism Organisation has a new name, a new mandate and structure, and decisive goals for the future.

Renamed ‘Hawke’s Bay Incorporated,’ the organisation is still funded by the Napier City, Hastings District and Hawke’s Bay Regional Councils, but has merged with the region’s Economic Development Agency. As well as fulfilling the role of RTO, the organisation is responsible for a wider mandate which can be summed up by their mission statement: 

‘To competitively market Hawke’s  Bay as a place  to visit, live, work, invest and grow’.

Company Structure

Hawke’s Bay Incorporated is organised into two divisions:

- Tourism Marketing

One of the core responsibilities of the Tourism Marketing team is to facilitate marketing, promotion and sales activities across the tourism and economic development areas, with the goal of making the region a more competitive destination. The other core responsibility is to use market research to gain a deeper understanding of Hawke's Bay's visitors, allowing the local tourism industry to make better-informed business decisions.

- Economic Development

The core responsibility of the Economic Development team is to establish Hawke's Bay as the premier province for business.

Firstly, through regional economic development projects designed to maximise the region's natural attributes and competitive advantages. Secondly, through working with the region's businesses, Hawke's Bay Inc is established as the region's business hub and portal for available business information, such as business planning, exporting, etc. 


Current & Future Projects

Hawke’s Bay Incorporated is heavily involved in fulfilling the core functions of the RTO and Convention Bureau, facilitating national and international trade and consumer shows, roadshows, workshops and numerous trade and media familiarisations. Other ongoing responsibilities include the management and development of  the official regional tourism website, as well as the production of regional tourism publications and collateral.

Current and future projects include strengthening relationships with recently-established cruise industry contacts abroad, hosting additional event workshops, planning for TRENZ and domestic food shows, as well as marketing the region domestically through the AA 101 Campaign.
